WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The head of the Wilmington House Authority (WHA), Michael Krause, will be in court Wednesday for his drunk driving arrest.

Wilmington Police charged Krause with a DWI August 20, after he was spotted driving erratically on Eastwood Road.

During the breathalyzer test, Krause blew a .23, which is almost three times the legal limit.

The WHA decided to keep him as CEO and just gave Krause a $15,000 raise, in addition to a $15,000 bonus.  Krause is the only WHA employee to receive a raise this year.

"The board continues to have complete confidence in Mr. Krause's ability to lead the Wilmington Housing Authority," said Lethia Hankins, chair of the Housing Authority Board in a previous report. "We look forward to having the matter [DWI charges] resolved as quickly as possible."

The housing authority board said he received the raise because of his leadership during his first year on the job.
