Justin joined the WECT team in November of 2006 as a photo journalist; during his first week on the job he covered the deadly tornado that struck Riegelwood North Carolina. Since that day, whether it be tragedy or joy, he has strived to give the viewers of WECT a glimpse into other peoples day to day lives. In 2010, Justin became Assignment Manager.
Although he was born in the Boston, Justin grew up in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This was where he first stole his parent's video camera and began to film anything that caught his eye. He decided to take his love of video seriously and enrolled at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he graduated with a degree in Communication Studies in 2005.
While at WECT Justin has won several awards, including the AP award for Best Photography, the RTNDAC's General News Story Award for his coverage of a riot that took place after a police shooting, and WECT's Team Player Award two years running.
When he is not shooting news, you can find Justin watching the Red Sox or reading anything that involves politics.
