WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Candidate filings are coming in and they want your vote. A couple of candidates made their way to the coast Wednesday as their campaigns begin.
State Senator David Rouzer opened his congressional campaign office in Wilmington Wednesday. He's running for the Republican nomination in the 7th Congressional District, the seat held by Congressman Mike McIntyre.
Rouzer is already getting slammed, being called a "Washington insider" for his time working with former senators Jesse Helms and Elizabeth Dole.
Earlier this month, Rouzer released a statement in response to one of Pantano's campaign ad that hammers the lobbyist. Rouzer believes we should be talking about the real issues instead of distortions.
Rouzer believes it's not the time to elect someone who will need training, but someone who already has experience.
