UNCW has decided to hold off moving its center for lesbian and gay students to a different location.WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - UNCW has decided to hold off moving its center for lesbian and gay students to a different location.
Right after students left for spring break, a faculty member announced on the group's closed Facebook page that the LGBTQIA Center would move from the student union to the library.
The decision upset many students on campus , who said the move would give them less exposure.
On behalf of the choice, however, the school recently released the following statement:
"The university is currently reevaluating plans to move the LGBTQIA Resource Office to allow more time for student input. At this time, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion is holding listening sessions to gain feedback from students and no decision has been made about relocation plans."
