DUPLIN COUNTY,NC (WECT) - One man was killed in a fatal accident in Duplin County early Sunday morning.

37-year-old Robert Clay Walker of Mount Olive was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Beautancus Road, seven miles southeast of Mount Olive.

According to Highway Patrol, Walker drove off the road, over-corrected and struck a tree on the opposite side of the road.

Authorities add that drugs, alcohol, speeding and no seatbelt were all factors.
