Find local
strawberries whenever possible, but this recipe works with those grown out of
the area;
Either bake an
angel food cake, your favorite shortcake recipe, or those little dessert cups
will work well;
Take your
strawberries, remove the stems. The berries may already be sweet enough
for you, but if not, add a little sugar and stir it in with the berries;
Put strawberries
in the dessert cups or on top of the shortcake and top with either store bought
whipped cream, or make your own;
Then sit back and
enjoy. And remember, there will be plenty of local strawberries for sale
this weekend at the North Carolina Strawberry Festival in Chadbourn!
