WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Showers are likely once again today as a slow moving cold front approaches us from the west. The thunderstorm and severe weather chances are greatly reduced today as the upper level support to facilitate powerful thunderstorms is not in place. That isn't to say we won't see some lightening or perhaps a few heavier downpours, but our trend is for drying conditions through Thursday as the front plods in to the region. Warm temperatures in the mid 80s will also fall to the lower 80s and upper 70s Thursday.
Drier air on the back side of the front will set up a fairly nice Friday and Saturday with mostly sunny skies and temperatures near normal.
Late Sunday another much cooler cold front will bring some dry fall weather to the area. How about highs in the low 70s and lows near 50? Those cooler temperatures should run into the middle of the work week.
