BilingualCrossing.com shows an upward trend in open bilingual positions, echoing a recent BLS report.

Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) October 07, 2012

A report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that bilingual teachers have an advantage in getting hired, a development backed by employment data at BilingualCrossing.com. The trend is no surprise in light of US Census 2012 estimates that for first time in United States history, most of the nation’s babies are members of minority groups. Bilingual teachers are much more likely to find employment in the current economy, even with numerous education budget cutbacks.

The BLS characterizes bilingual education as having a “strong“ job outlook, corroborated by figures at BilingualCrossing.com. This website, which provides job listings for bilingual positions all across the country, currently has 2,295 bilingual Spanish jobs. Regardless of language, the site shows numerous bilingual opportunities in California and Florida, which have listings totaling 4,393 and 2,540, respectively.

The rate of growth is most impressive. In August, the site had 36,820 listings. In September, that number grew to 39,609 listings, an increase of 7 percent in just one month.

“These numbers more than confirm the positive bilingual job outlook projected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics,” says A. Harrison Barnes, CEO of BilingualCrossing.com.

Despite numerous cutbacks in education, with demand driven by a changing demographic, bilingual educators have an excellent chance at finding work.
