NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A man from Hampstead was killed Friday afternoon in a traffic accident in New Hanover County.
According to Highway Patrol, Aaron Royal, 32, was driving a motorcycle on Green Meadows Drive off of Market Street.
Royal tried to pass two vehicles on the left in a no passing zone. The lead car tried to make a left hand turn into a driveway and did not see the motorcycle.
Highway Patrol said Royal died on scene. He was wearing a seatbelt and no alcohol or drugs are suspected to play a role in the accident.
According to Highway Patrol, no other driver was cited.
