Driver charged after crash in Pender Co.

A car crash took place at a traffic light in front of the Hampstead Fire Department around 4:50 p.m. Friday, according to highway patrol officials.

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A car crash took place at a traffic light in front of the Hampstead Fire Department around 4:50 p.m. Friday, according to highway patrol officials.

A car was reportedly stopped at the red light when a second car rear-ended it.

The driver of the second car was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She was complaining of neck and shoulder pains.

That same female driver has been charged with failure to reduce speed.
