#1 Cavs face tough battle to region title

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The number one ranked Darton men's soccer team is wanting to get to the national junior college tournament for a third straight year for several reasons.

One of course is to win the national title.

The second is Darton is hosting the national tournament and the Cavs would love to win the title on their home field.

To get to the nationals, Darton first has to win their region tournament which the Cavaliers are also hosting this weekend.

The number one and unbeaten Cavaliers have a tough semifinal match Saturday against Wallace State which is also unbeaten.

After winning two straight region titles, Darton knows the target is on their back this weekend which makes winning a third consecutive championship even more difficult.

"When everybody is against you and everybody is coming at you, you just have to find ways to play within yourselves and make it all about yourselves. This team has done a good job of doing that. Hopefully, we can keep it about ourselves" , said Darton men's soccer coach Bart Sasnett.

Darton men will play at 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the men's region soccer semifinals.
