The University of South Carolina's 38-35 win over Southeastern Conference opponent Tennessee Saturday helped move the Gamecocks in an upward direction in the polls.
The Gamecocks moved up from 19th to 11th in the Associated Press Top 25 College Football poll. They are 7-2 overall and 5-2 in the SEC. The Gamecocks' back to back losses to LSU and Florida contributed to a major downfall in the poll to a 19th position last week.
Alabama remains at number 1. After losing to Georgia 17-9 Saturday, Florida dropped from number 2 to 8th. Georgia moved up to 7th.
Oregon is at number 2, followed by Kansas St., Notre Dame, LSU, Ohio St., and Florida St. at 9th.
Clemson is ranked 10th.
South Carolina is also ranked No. 11 in the USA Today/Coaches' Poll. BCS rankings will be released later Sunday.
