Albany State ready for FAMU rematch

Posted: Updated:

After two weeks of practice, the Albany State basketball team is ready to see where they stand.

The Golden Rams heading to Tallahassee Thursday night for an exhibition game against Florida A&M.

The Golden Rams upset the Rattlers last year in Tallahassee.

Head coach Chris Cameron knows FAMU is looking forward to this rematch.

So is Albany State.

Even though only three players are back from last year's team.

The Golden Rams have eight new players on the roster but they are very talented.

The new players include Thomasville High's Trey Gosier, former Worth County Ram Jerome Hamilton and Bainbridge Bearcat James Baulkom.

The coach is wanting to see how much of his system all of these new players know before the games start to count in two weeks.

"What we have right now with the team is how well we have prepared. The things we have been working on. Make sure they have retained the information that we have given them. It is going to be exciting to go down to FAMU and scrimmage them", said head coach Chris Cameron.

Albany State will also play an exhibition game at Georgia State on Sunday.

The Golden Rams open the regular season November 17 at Georgia Southwestern.
