When Camden County moved into what is now region 1-AAAAAA this season, high school football fans around the state were looking forward to the Wildcats first region meeting with Lowndes.
The wait ends Friday night.
The 4th ranked Vikings will host the number one ranked Wildcats in a game that clinches the region title for the winner.
These two teams have been two of the best in the state.
The Vikings and Wildcats have combined to win six state titles in the last ten years in the state's highest classification.
Camden as always has their tough 3-5 defense but adds quarterback Brice Ramsey and J.J. Green on offense.
Ramsey and Green have both committed to Georgia.
The Vikings team does not have any star recruits but head coach Randy McPherson says that has been a big reason for Lowndes' success this season.
"We really like this team. They do play hard. They do play together. They are a very young team. The majority of them will be back next year. We just like being around them", said Lowndes coach Randy McPherson.
Lowndes tries to win a 7th region championship in the last ten seasons.
