The Darton Lady Cavaliers open their season this weekend with their annual Darton Classic.
The Darton women will play West Georgia Tech on Friday and Southern Union on Saturday.
South Georgia Tech also playing in this season opening event.
Lady Cavs head coach Lea Henry's first season was a big success with 20 wins and a runner-up finish in the region.
Year two sees a brand new team with eight new players.
Sophomore Michelle Mitchell, getting plenty of interest from Division I schools, is back.
Coach Henry expects the young team to need time to adjust to the college game but believes this year's squad has more depth.
"Being able to play more kids is we can be able to keep the tempo up longer. We can play more aggressive defense in the full court. Last year we had several situations where we would have an injury or we would get in foul trouble. It affected how we played. I don't think this year that is going to be a problem", said head coach Lea Henry.
Darton will play at 2:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with South Georgia Tech to play the second game each day.
