LSU vs. Alabama Predictions: "What They are Saying"

Posted: Updated:
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

On paper it would suggest that LSU should not show up for Saturday's game against Alabama. The Tide is an overwhelming pick to win the game and it has also been suggested that Texas A&M is a bigger challenge to Bama than LSU. And who would have known the Presidential race is riding on the winner of this game. Here's a taste of "What They are Saying":

From CBS Sports:

Nobody runs on Alabama. Even if LSU has modest ground success, QB Zach Mettenberger will have to make a bigger impact than he has through eight games.

From SI.com:

The Game of the Year feels ... a little anticlimactic.

From DallasNews.com:

"I'll say it right now, I think A&M is more of a threat to Alabama than LSU is," Kirk Herbstreit said. "You heard it. I think A&M is more of a threat next week to Alabama than LSU is. Even though it's Tuscaloosa and the reason I say that is because of Johnny Manziel and the style of offense they run."

From WAFB Sports:

Once again the game will come down to quarterback play. Can LSU pressure McCarron and hit him early and often and can Mettenberger handle Alabama's pressure?

From Athlon Sports:

The Tigers should have some extra momentum with this game in Baton Rouge, but can they generate enough offense to win this game?

From AL.com:

It's not the Game of the Century, but it's the Game of Survival. Do the math. Another loss and LSU is toast in the SEC West and in the national title picture.

From SB Nation:

All signs point to an Alabama win. Its offense is as good or better than LSU's defense, and its defense is much, much better than LSU's offense.

From NOLA.com:

The difference in quarterback and on the offensive lines will be the difference as the Crimson Tide takes a huge step towards a shot at second straight national crown.
