WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A football coach from Hoggard High School was arrested around 2:00 Thursday morning for accusations of having indecent liberties with a student.

According to Valita Quattlebaum, Michael Dale Supak, 37, was suspended as of the ended of the day Wednesday, pending the outcome of an investigation that is underway.

The incident report said the crime was reported to the sheriff's office Wednesday night by Principal Eric Pfirman.

According to the sheriff's office, Supak was charged from an incident that took place last month on school campus. The incident report says the coach forcibly kissed the victim October 14 around 6 p.m. at Hoggard. No injuries were reported.

Supak posted a $2,000 secured bond and was released from the New Hanover County Detention Facility around 5:00 Thursday morning.

Supak joined the Hoggard staff in 2006, according to the school's website. He is currently the head coach for the Junior Varsity football team and the head girls' track coach. Supak is also an honors world history teacher.

This is the third time a teacher or coach has been arrested because of an incident with a student or students.

Joseph Brown Jr. pleaded guilty to three counts of assault in August this year, according to the District Attorney's office. Before he was fired, Brown was an assistant football coach and a teaching assistant at Hoggard.

He was charged with assaulting students on campus in March, and is not allowed at Hoggard without permission from the school board until July 2015. Brown has to complete community service and anger management.

Dishon White resigned from his position as a teaching assistant at Ashley High School in April this year. He was charged with indecent liberties with a student. He was found not guilty at trial on October 31, 2012.
