Nearly 80 charges filed following police checkpoint

Nearly 30 law enforcement officers from New Hanover and Brunswick Counties, UNCW and the Wilmington Police Department conducted a checkpoint in the 3200 block of Randall Parkway Friday night.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Nearly 30 law enforcement officers from New Hanover and Brunswick Counties, UNCW and the Wilmington Police Department conducted a checkpoint in the 3200 block of Randall Parkway Friday night.

As a result of the checkpoint, the following charges were filed, according a police spokesperson:

No operator's license - 15
Driving while license revoked - 10
Driving while impaired - 8
Drive after consuming an impairing substance while under age 21 - 2
Possess marijuana - 6
Stolen firearm recovered - 1
Misc. other charges – 36
