BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Authorities have identified and are searching for a suspect in connection to a robbery at First Citizen's Bank that took place Friday morning.

Following the robbery, authorities have an outstanding warrant for armed robbery out for Aaron Montrese McDowell, 27, of White Oak, NC, according to Chief Kinlaw with Elizabethtown Police.

Authorities arrived at McDowell's last known address to execute a search warrant, but he wasn't there.

According to Chief Kinlaw, the suspect walked in to the bank around 9:23, presenter a teller with a note, displayed a handgun and told her that he wanted all of the money.

The teller complied, and the suspect proceeded to put the money in a duffle bag.

The bank remained closed Friday while police investigated.

Elizabethtown Primary School went on lockdown in response to a bomb threat at around the same time that the robbery took place.
