WILMINGTON, NC - (WECT) - The owner of one casting company is putting NBC's Revolution on blast, saying its shortchanging its staff.
Leo Daniels called the salary of the extras "embarrassing" in a Twitter post on Friday. Extras on the show make minimum wage, which he says is not enough.
A co-casting director for the show says extras make $58 for an eight hour day, which is fairly standard. While it is equal to the salary some projects offer, other projects offer more, for example Eastbound and Down offered extras $64 for an eight hour day.
Daniels says the amount is not enough, especially for veteran extras who have lots of experience on set.
"For them to come in and pay extras 58 over 8 is really low balling and it's not fair to the people that do this for a living," said Daniels. "There are a lot of people who do this to supplement their income, for some of them it's their only income, when they come in and pay them such a low amount, to me its not fair."
Daniels called the move a "slap in the face," and says he would expect the show to offer at least a little more.
