Carolina Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine showcases new Aquatic Therapy equipment for their Lexington and North East locations.
Columbia, S.C. (PRWEB) February 12, 2013
Carolina Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, a physical therapy clinic serving Columbia and Lexington, is introducing its new aquatic therapy equipment. Water therapy can be used for rehabilitation after an injury or surgery, arthritis relief, weight loss, muscle toning, and strength and endurance training. The new units are called AquaCisers ®, and are available at the Lexington and North East locations.
AquaCisers ® provide unique benefits to patients. The water allows for buoyancy, reducing the effect of gravity on joints, helping patients who are limited by pain, weakness, or weight-bearing restrictions. The AquaCisers® also provide options for Hydrokinetic exercises, which provide resistance through range of motion. These exercises are more comprehensive, and can strengthen muscles in a way traditional exercises can’t. As part of the treadmill’s functions, there are variable speed ranges, the water can be heated from 92° to 105°F, and there are adjustable resistance jets for greater strength and conditioning training.
The therapy treatments are individualized, one-on-one with a physical therapist, temperature controlled, and the AquaCisers® have a step in chamber, so there is no climbing in or out of a pool. For more information on how the AquaCiser® therapies can be beneficial or to make an appointment, please call: the Lexington office (803.359.0505) or the Northeast office (803.788.8484).
