BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Brunswick County is moving forward with plans to expand their 911 communications center.
In 2012, the county was awarded a $2 million grant for construction of a new facility that would sit behind the current building.
County Commissioners will decide on awarding $200,000 to an architectural and engineering team to aid with the design during Monday's meeting.
The new facility would be 10,000 square feet and house the new 911 call center along with storage and offices.
The building would be designed to, one day, connect with the current building.
