NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A lot of people at local beaches have gotten a rare opportunity to glimpse a gray seal.
First, it was spotted earlier this month on Wrightsville Beach. Since then, it's moved to Carolina Beach and Kure Beach.
Marine biologists at UNCW say this is the farthest south the species has been spotted in North Carolina.
Authorities warn people to keep their distance.
Barbara Koncal from Cary sent in the attached video of the seal sunbathing.
