WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Federal reports show incumbent Rep. Mike McIntyre (D-NC7) leading potential challengers in fundraising during the second quarter of 2013.

McIntyre, who won a ninth term in office in 2012, raised more than $235,000 from April 1 through June 30, according to recently filed documents with the Federal Elections Commission. The infusion of campaign funds put McIntyre at $383,067 cash on hand at the end of the reporting period.

McIntyre's report shows he raised more than $150,000 from Political Action Committees in the second quarter, and $75,000 from individuals. You can see McIntyre's second quarter report by clicking here.

Jonathan Barfield, the New Hanover County Commissioner who announced that he plans to run for the Democratic nomination in the 7th District, has not raised much campaign cash. FEC reports show Barfield raising just over $2,000 in the second quarter, leaving him with $709.44 cash on hand. Click here to see Barfield's second quarter report.

Former state Senator David Rouzer, who lost to McIntyre in the closest Congressional race in 2012 and has already announced intention to run for the Republican nomination in 2014, has raised $181,982,44 in the second quarter of 2013 according to FEC reports.  Rouzer has 168,269.92 cash on hand at the end of the reporting period.

Rouzer's report shows he has loaned his campaign about $45,000 in the second quarter. He raised more than $104,000 from individuals and $24,000 from political committees. Click here to see Rouzer's second quarter report.
