WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Airlines could be forced to be more
transparent when it comes to the fees you pay.
The Department of Transportation proposed the rule years ago, but
the federal government has yet to implement it.
advocates stood outside the DOT, demanding answers.
They unveiled a banner that demonstrates the number of days the
rule has been delayed - more than 880.
"We have no way as consumers today to compare that (fees) on
airlines unless we go airline to airline to airline, and after you spend hours
doing that, the prices have changed because they change their ticket prices
every couple of hours," says Charles Leocha with Consumer Travel Alliance.
As part of the airline passenger protections rule, airlines would
be required to clearly disclose any fees in addition to the ticket price, ahead
