Man killed in boat accident off of Carolina Beach identified

A man swam to shore after his boat capsized about three miles of the shore of Carolina Beach Saturday afternoon.
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – One person was killed in a boating accident that happened off Carolina Beach Saturday, according to Captain Todd Radabaugh with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
Wildlife officers say Ronnie Loftis of Carolina Beach died after the boat he was on capsized about three miles off the shore around 12:30 p.m.
Loftis was on board with another man who survived, Ronald Savoy.
One of the men swam to shore around 2:30 p.m., where someone flagged down an officer to radio 911.
No other details are known about the incident at this time.
