Officials searching for Castle Hayne armed robbery suspect

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WECT) – Authorities are investigating reports of an armed robbery that happened late Sunday night in Castle Hayne, according to officials with New Hanover County Dispatch.

Dispatch said they received a call just after 11:15 p.m. that a man was robbed at gunpoint in the Midway Kwik Stop parking lot, located in the 4500 block of North College Road.

Officials with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office say the robbery victim was approached by a man asking for a cigarette, who then showed a weapon and demanded the victim's wallet.

After handing over his wallet, the victim left the scene.

The suspect is described as a white man, about six feet tall with a short buzz cut and thin beard with a moustache. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, and was driving a silver Jeep Cherokee.

Two other suspects were also in the vehicle, but their physical descriptions aren't available.
