WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington City Council members are moving forward with plans to sell land so that a hotel can be built next to the convention center.
The city and Harmony Hospitality are finalizing a purchase, development agreement and use of the public convention center parking deck, according to a news release from a town spokesperson.
The city proposes to sell the land to Harmony for $579,000.
Harmony has received franchise approval to build a186-room Embassy Suites.
City council members will consider the plan during their Oct. 1 meeting.
