MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -
Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say foul play is suspected in a body that was located in Mount Pleasant Monday night.
According to authorities, detectives located the body near a power substation off of McGrath Darby Boulevard at 8:30 p.m.
"At this point there are indications of foul play and we are investigating from there," said Major Jim Brady with the sheriff's office late Monday night."The coroner's office is coordinating with investigators to determine the circumstances involving the discovery of the body as well as what may have occurred."
Officials with the sheriff's office say the investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working with investigators to determine the identity of the deceased.
Brady said his investigators have not made any connections between the body found and the case of a missing law school student, 25-year-old William Alexander Apps, who was last seen Thursday evening.
"We haven't made connections to those cases at this point," Brady said."We're trying to determine the circumstances involving the body being found here and the coroner's office is assisting with that investigation."
