Company plans to cut nearly a hundred jobs in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Mundy Maintenance, Services and Operations, LLC has notified the city of Wilmington of its intent to lay off about 100 workers in the last month of the year.

In a letter to Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo, the company states that 97 people will be let go from production at the site at 4600 Highway 421 North around December 15th this year.

The maintenance contractor has had layoffs in the past in this area, mainly having to do with contracts coming to an end. The most recent notice prior to this one was around the same time last year.
