REPORT: Fatal car crash victim had .28 BAC

CASWELL BEACH, NC (WECT) - A toxicology report released nearly a year after the death of Peter Darrell Liane shows he had a Blood Alcohol Content of .28 when he died.

Liane was killed in a single-car accident December 30, 2012 on Caswell Beach Road. He was the only victim in the car.

Authorities believe Liane was driving about 55-60 mph when the car swerved off the road. The vehicle went several hundred feet before landing on its side.

Liane was not wearing a seatbelt during the accident and died instantly.

This was the first fatal traffic accident in Caswell Beach in over 25 years.
