NASHVILLE, TN (RNN) – A late-rally by Marshall was stopped by Vanderbilt, and the Commodores won on their home floor 69-67 Thursday night.

Despite holding the Marshall Thundering Herd (4-4) to 26 points in the first half, Marshall outscored the Commodores (5-3) 41-34 in the second.

The Commodores had three players score in double-digits, including forward James Siakam and center Damian Jones both with 15 points. Dai-Jon Parker, who scored seven points off the bench, hit a key 3-pointer in the final minute to seal the victory for Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt made 69 percent of their free throw shots and 45 percent of their field goal attempts, but was dismal from the floor – only making five-of-17 from downtown.

The Commodores will face the Austin Peay Governors at home on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
