Crews respond to second call at Richmond restaurant

Posted: Updated:

Investigators say a fire in the 3900 block of Old Hopkins Road in Richmond was caused by a cooking accident.

Officials say though the former restaurant was not open for business when the kitchen was being used just before 10 p.m. Saturday. It took until midnight to mark this fire under control. A person did receive minor injuries, but refused treatment.

Just after 2 p.m. Sunday crews responded a second time for embers smoldering near an air conditioning unit on the roof. Smoke was visible when they arrived and they are monitoring the situation.
