Friends and family streamed into Apostolic Church in Barberton to say goodbye to 18-year-old Ashley Carpenter and her brother 14-year-old David Carpenter-Kohler, Wednesday night.
Gorgeous purple and white carnations lined the altar inside the church.
Ashley and David's mother invited 19 Action News to the funeral.
In the lobby, a large colorful memory wall with hundreds of messages from Barberton high school students and loved ones, including one directly to David saying, "You are a good friend."
"It's very beautiful inside but I couldn't stay in their very long cause it's very hard," said Jessica Steser, a family friend.
Ashley and David were murdered along with their father John Kohler on New Year's Eve in their home during a home invasion.
John's girlfriend Ronda Blankenship was also shot during the robbery. She survived.
The three will be missed.
"It's a shame that this had to happen to her. Her memory is going to live on with all of us. It's just hard to deal with," said Alexandra Barsko, Ashley's friend.
