NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Famed NYC Chefs Geoffrey Zakarian of The Lambs Club and The National, Marc Murphy of Landmarc and Ditch Plains, Andrew Carmellini of The Dutch and Lafayette, and John DeLucie of Crown, The Lion, Bill's Food & Drink and King Cole Bar at the St. Regis are heating up the kitchens for a good cause at everyone's favorite soup spot, Hale and Hearty.
Each of the acclaimed chefs has crafted a unique limited edition soup, each to be sold for a period of two weeks (for a total of eight weeks) at all 29 Hale and Hearty locations from January 13 – March 7, offering New York's lunch crowd a taste of their superb cuisine at lunch while benefiting the charities of their choice.
Five charities will receive 10% of the proceeds from all sales of Chef Series soups.
Chef Zakarian's soup, Heirloom Bean, will benefit the Kimmins-Terrier Foundation; Marc Murphy's soup, Beef Barley with Mushrooms and Kale, will benefit City Harvest; Andrew Carmellini's soup, Coconut Curry Butternut Squash, will benefit Food Bank for New York City; and John DeLucie's soup, Chicken Pot Pie, will benefit two charities, The Children's Defense Fund and Global Learning Across Borders.
The program is in its second year; last year's Chef Series featured soups by Chefs David Burke, Michael White, Christopher Bradley, Bill Telepan, Michael Anthony, and Nick Anderer, which raised approximately $20,000 for their respective charities.
