BARBERTON, OH (WOIO) -

The lone survivor of the Barberton shooting that left three people dead and tore a family apart is now talking only to 19 Action News.

Ronda Blankenship says she is getting stronger each day after being shot in the eye on New Year's Day.

She asked Investigative Reporter Scott Taylor to come to Barberton to tell her story in an exclusive interview.

Ronda Blankenship is a very brave woman… shot in the eye...she was able to call 911 to try and save her family.

Now she has a message to the monsters that shot everyone she loved in that house.

On New Year's Eve police believe two men walked into a home in Barberton and shot John Kohler, his girlfriend Ronda Blankenship and John's 18-year-old daughter Ashley and his 14-year-old son David.

Only Ronda survived.

"The last thing I remember in that house was somebody told me ‘Shut up b-eep.  I got news for you... This b-eep don't shut up.... I am going to get louder,'" recalls Ronda.

Investigators believe Eric Hendon and his brother Michael are the shooters.

Both have been charged with aggravated murder.

For the very first time Ronda is talking.  She says after being shot in the eye, she found the strength to call 911 for help.

"Those two beautiful kids in the back is what gave me the strength. I was hoping to get to them first," says Ronda.

Ronda says Ashley and David's dad John Kohler tried to protect them from the shooter.

"To me he is a hero.  He tried to save us all.  He just couldn't."

She has as clear message to the person who murdered her family and left her for dead.

"I am getting stronger and stronger every day.  Pretty much angrier and angrier every day because I want justice."

Ronda tells us she is very thankful for all the support she has received from all over the nation and most of all the support she has gotten from family.
