NEW HANOVER, COUNTY (WECT) - Sheriff's deputies say a white conversion van originally considered part of an armed robbery in New Hanover County has been cleared of any connection.

The robbery happened early Saturday morning at a Wilco Hess gas station on Market Street, according to the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office.

According to a store employee, a man walked up to the counter and showed a handgun and demanded cash.

The white conversion van is no longer connected to the crime, but detectives are still searching for a 6-foot tall man who weighs about 170 pounds.

Anyone who has any information on the suspect is asked to contact the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office at 910-798-4162.
