WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington Police were in the 800 block of Queen Street Monday night to investigate a shooting.

Multiple shots were reportedly fired into a home near downtown Wilmington around 9 p.m., according to Sergeant Pettus with the Wilmington Police Department.

Pettus said there were people inside the home when the shooting occurred, but that no one was harmed during the incident.

Pettus also said there were no witnesses to the shooting, and that shot spotter technology picked up the gunfire.

According to officials, police found shell casings in the area that leads them to believe 12 rounds were fired.

Police saw a white van turn off Ninth Street onto Dawson and two passengers ran away. It is unclear if they are connected to the shooting, but officers are searching for the individuals who ran.
