NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - After the New Hanover County School Board approved a new make-up day schedule, parents have expressed their frustration.
The scheduled make-up days adds 30 minutes to the school day: 15 minutes to the beginning and 15 minutes to the end of the day.
"Fifteen minutes is the difference between a good morning and a bad morning," said parent Beth Kline. She said the 15 minutes deducted from her morning schedule will be difficult to adjust to.
"It would have been nice if they asked for input from parents before making the schedule," says Kline.
According to a spokesperson for the New Hanover County School System, the school board asked for input from parents, teachers, and community members.
