Gebben Miles just added another trophy and title to his long list of accolades that come with being a world champion clay pigeon shooter.

Miles was born and raised in Tucson and now he travels the world competing in clay pigeon shoots from Russia to the United Arab Emirates where he just won first place in the Nad Al Sheba Sporting Clays Championship in Dubai.

The Gulf Today reports, American Gebben Miles, Spain's Beatriz Cuenca Laparra and Kuwait's Abdullah Al Rashidi claimed the top honours in the three categories at the first Nad Al Sheba Sporting Clays Championship held at the Al Ruwayyah shooting range on Wednesday.

Miles overturned a three-point disadvantage from fellow American Anthony Matarese and British champion Sean Bramley after Tuesday's penultimate day, to finish the six-man final with a total of 178 points.

Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, the championship had a total prize purse of $735,000.

After four days of shooting, and earning that champion title, Miles won the Men's $140,000 payday in sporting clays's richest competition according to Ammoland.

I spoke with Gebben last week as he left for Dubai. He was excited and ready to represent his hometown, "it's my first time to an Arab world and what an honor it is to represent Tucson and the U.S. Keep my prayed up. I'm going to let it happen and shoot for gold and a $140,000."
