The ex-wife of the man at the center of Ohio's "Coingate" scandal is now suing his trial attorneys.

Bernadette Restivo has filed an action against Cleveland law firm Thompson Hine. Her ex-husband, Tom Noe, is currently in prison on charges of theft and corruption in connection to his handling of rare coin investments for Ohio's Bureau of Workers Compensation.

Noe's law firm asked that Restivo sign a nearly $1.9 million mortgage on her home with them in anticipation of Noe's legal fees in 2006. Restivo, who divorced Noe after his conviction, is now asking a court to find the mortgage "invalid, null and void."

She says she signed the mortgage under duress and only after the law firm acted fraudulently. Noe has since admitted to an affair while he was married to Restivo, but she says his attorneys advised him not to tell her. Had she known, Restivo says she would not have signed the mortgage.
