Tucson man's last Facebook posting reaffirms his faith

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

If you knew him, you loved him, and he loved you back. That's how John MacIntire's friends and family describe the 66-year-old Tucson man killed in a head-on collision Thursday. He was known as a devout Christian and his last Facebook posting shows his deep faith.

The crash happened at 2:00pm on Thursday near Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, shutting down a stretch of Kolb Road for six hours while investigators went over the scene. Police said as MacIntire drove down Kolb Road, another vehicle heading in the opposite direction jumped the raised median and smashed head-on into MacIntire.

Just three hours before that tragic moment, MacIntire made his very last Facebook posting. It was a Bible quote from Philippines 4:8: "Continue to think about what is good and worthy of praise. Think about what is true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected."

Police arrested Anthony Thierry and say he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He remains behind bars on charges of second degree murder, endangerment, and criminal damage.
