NORTH CANTON, OH (WOIO) -

In less than 24 hours, police say three people have died from apparent heroin overdoses in Stark County.

According to North Canton Police, one person in North Canton and two in Canton have all died the same way. All three deaths are pending toxicology results from the coroner's office.

The North Canton and Canton police departments, Stark County Metro Narcotics Unit, along with Stark County Coroner Dr. P.S. Murthy, are warning residents about this dangerous batch of drugs, deemed life-threatening.

These law enforcement agencies are actively working together in the investigation.

Officials want all Stark County residents to be aware of drug overdoses occurring in the community -- whether intentional or accidental -- and urge users to seek treatment and avoid using heroin.
