WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A powerful cold front brings numerous showers and thunderstorms with the threat of severe weather to eastern North Carolina. Colder air rushes in for Wednesday and Thursday.
TUESDAY: Showers and thunderstorms with the threat for severe weather will be in the forecast for the better part of the day, particularly into the afternoon as temperatures rise. Hi: 79F. Rain chance: 90%
TUESDAY NIGHT: Much cooler! Northwest breezes will bring chilly air with late-night lows likely in the upper 30s.
MIDDLE AND LATE WEEK HIGHLIGHTS: Wednesday through Friday will feature cool daytime temperatures mainly in the 50s and 60s and chilly nighttime temperatures in the 30s and 40s. A hard freeze is very unlikely.
EASTER WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS: Expect a risk of scattered showers - more especially Saturday versus Easter Sunday. Daytime temperatures: mainly 60s and 70s. Easter sunrise times: around 6:40.
